I am excited to share that the The Pinewoods Fund, an annual giving campaign dedicated to dramatically strengthening and supporting our school, is off to a great start.
Together with our teachers, Board of Directors, and administrators, we believe this fund will serve our pursuit of ever-growing excellence at Pinewoods by enhancing learning opportunities for every student, strengthening our community bonds, and securing a sustainable future for generations to come. Through annual giving, we enrich student experiences, deepen family connections, and ensure the legacy of Pinewoods Montessori endures.
Approximately 85% of our revenue comes from tuition, which directly supports our personnel, programs, facilities, and administrative costs. The Pinewoods Fund provides us with an opportunity to go beyond operational expenses and focus on targeted improvements that elevate our educational impact and enrich our programs.
In this inaugural year, the primary goals for The Pinewoods Fund include providing more resources for professional development for our guides and enhancing our Montessori class environments.
With your support, The Pinewoods Fund will enable us to:
- Invest in Our People: Our talented teachers and staff are the foundation of a Pinewoods Montessori education. Your contribution to this fund will provide resources for ongoing training, workshops, and professional development opportunities, ensuring our educators stay at the forefront of Montessori education and bring the very best to our students each day.
As you may know, our nation is experiencing a national teacher shortage. Now more than ever, investing in our current employees and helping them grow as Montessori educators is essential to ensure we can hire and retain the most capable and committed faculty for years to come.
- Enhance Montessori Class Environments: Another priority of The Pinewoods Fund is to invest in our Prepared Environments, a foundational element of the Montessori approach. To enrich learning for all students, Pinewoods has begun refurbishing our well-loved and, in some instances, well-worn Montessori materials and classroom furniture, including age-appropriate tables, chairs, and shelving. Classic Montessori materials, such as the Red Rods and the Pink Tower for Primary, and the Timelines and hands-on math materials in Elementary, are essential investments that will deepen and enhance the learning experience for our students.
We are grateful to a set of families, along with 100% participation from our Board of Directors, for generously providing leadership gifts to launch The Pinewoods Fund with the strongest foundation possible. Collectively, this group has raised $20,000, and if each family is able to give $250 before the end of the year, we will easily reach our goal of $50,000.
We understand that some may not be able to give this amount, while others may feel inspired to give more. Our hope is that every family will find a way to give in a manner that feels meaningful and reflects the important role Pinewoods plays in the lives of our children and families. Your gift, no matter the size, will make a difference. With each contribution to The Pinewoods Fund, you are directly supporting the growth and quality of a Pinewoods Montessori education for your child and the entire community at large.
