Young Children’s Community (YCC) Lead Guide

for children ages 18 months-3 years old

Qualifications:

  • Montessori training diploma for 0-3 years (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience working with children 18 months – 3 years of age (preferred)

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Adhering to the PWMS mission, for the purpose of maintaining quality and excellence.
  • Preparing and maintaining a Montessori environment for children 0-3 years old.
  • Observing, directing and supervising children in accordance with Montessori pedagogy and Pinewoods Montessori School policies.
  • Building and maintaining meaningful partnerships with families.
  • Collaborating with and giving active support to colleagues.
  • Modeling integrity, curiosity, responsibility, creativity, and respect for all persons, with an appreciation for racial, cultural, and gender issues and diversity.

Physical requirements include:

  • The ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Hand dexterity
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Walking between transitions and playground monitoring
  • Ability to sit on the floor and transitioning from sitting to standing throughout the day

  • Montessori training and/or 3+ years working in a Montessori setting (preferred)
