The Pinewoods Fund is our annual giving campaign and the cornerstone of all our fundraising efforts. It plays a critical role in helping us expand and enhance the educational experience of our current and future students, from continuous program and facilities enhancements and ongoing professional support for our faculty and staff, to expanded financial aid resources for current and future families.

Being a part of the Pinewoods Montessori community adds significant value to the lives of our children and families. We encourage you to give in an amount that is meaningful for your family. Whether your gift is $50 or $5,000. Ultimately, it is not how much you give but that you give.

Two primary goals for The Pinewoods Fund at this time include investing in our people by providing more resources for professional development, and enhancing our Montessori class environments. With your support, The Pinewoods Fund will enable us to:

1. Invest in Our People:

Our talented teachers and staff are the foundation of a Pinewoods Montessori education. This fund will provide resources for ongoing training, workshops, and professional development opportunities, ensuring our educators stay at the forefront of Montessori education and bring the very best to our students each day.

As you know, our nation is still experiencing the effects of a national teacher shortage. Now more than ever, investing in our current employees and helping them grow as Montessori educators is essential to ensure we can hire and retain the most capable and committed faculty for years to come.

2. Enhance Montessori Class Environments:

Another priority of The Pinewoods Fund is to invest in our Prepared Montessori Environments. As you know, the Prepared Montessori Environment is foundational to our Montessori approach. To enrich learning for all students, Pinewoods has begun refurbishing our well-loved and, in some instances, well-worn Montessori materials and classroom furniture, including age-appropriate tables, chairs, and shelving. Classic Montessori materials such as the Red Rods and the Pink Tower in Primary, and the Timelines and hands on math materials such as the cubing material in Elementary are essential investments that will deepen and enhance the learning experience for our students.

Annual funds are common practice among independent schools. The Pinewoods Fund is used to support the school’s continual pursuit of improved excellence. The Pinewoods Fund provides for opportunities beyond the basic operating expenses (salaries, benefits, utilities, maintenance, etc.) already covered by tuition. Covered by our Pinewoods Fund include those items that help make a PWMS education the best it can be, from facilities improvements and technology enhancements to ongoing professional development for faculty and staff.

Yes! Every gift is important and valued. Just three gifts of $200 put a new iPad in the hands of a teacher. $1,000 sends a teacher to a national conference and $1,500 helped make our amphitheater a reality or may make a PWMS education possible for another child.

If you are considering a one-time donation, please consider a monthly gift through automatic bank draft, easy to set up and easy to make the meaningful gift you want. Consider the impact if every family who gave $100 in the past would consider a $30 monthly donation. Wow!

All contributors will be recognized in the annual report, unless you request to remain anonymous. Gift amounts are not listed. In honor of our founding year of 1907, all gifts of $1,907 and greater are recognized as leadership gifts.

Yes. PWMS is a non-profit organization and all gifts are tax-deductible.
