YCC Camp will run during the six weeks of summer camp listed above. While maintaining consistency in learning, we’ll also incorporate extra outdoor play and summer-focused activities to make the most of the season.

Elementary

Re-Makers Workshop

This is the camp where “old” becomes “awesome!” Led by Pinewoods Parent and Dad of Mad Skill, Miguel Mendez, The Re-Maker Workshop is a hands-on woodworking experience designed for elementary-age creators who love to build, tinker, and explore. Join us for a fun week where we’ll transform reclaimed lumber and “rescue” materials into functional masterpieces—from custom toolboxes to wooden robots. Guided by tool safety and an eco-friendly mindset, students will master real skills with hammers, saws, and hand drills, learning that with a little imagination and a lot of grit, any scrap can become a treasure. Join us this summer to saw, sand, and build a greener future, one project at a time!

Bird Beak Adaptations:

Campers will explore how animals adapt to their environments through hands-on experiments and creative challenges. Guided by Ms. Kelly, Upper Elementary Lead Guide at Pinewoods, campers will use birds as inspiration to investigate design, function, and problem-solving in an accessible and engaging way. Activities encourage observation, critical thinking, and collaboration as campers test ideas and reflect on results. The week blends scientific inquiry with playful exploration, allowing curiosity and creativity to drive learning.

This camp invites campers to dive into storytelling, imagination, and self-expression through a variety of writing activities. Led by Ms. Mars, a Pinewoods Guide, campers will develop characters, settings, and story ideas in a supportive and encouraging environment. This camp nurtures creativity while helping young writers strengthen communication skills.

The camp is welcoming to all experience levels and celebrates joyful movement.
